A camera strap is a piece of equipment a photographer never stops using. From the moment the camera leaves the bag until it’s packed away, the strap carries the weight. It should move naturally with your body, stay comfortable and agile, prevent your camera from crashing to the ground, and most importantly, not hinder the process of capturing a moment.
After years of assignments, travel, and long days on foot, the outcome became the W(AN)T® Studio “Elastic Strap,” a camera strap designed through rigorous testing in real-world conditions. Every material and component was selected with a single goal in mind: to create a camera strap photographers could trust every day, in every environment, with comfort and performance for photographers who spend their time in the field.
Internal Elastic Core
At the heart of the strap is our custom-woven, high-tension elastic core. Designed to absorb movement, it reduces shock and strain on your camera from walking, running, climbing, cycling, crouching, and other active movements. The elastic naturally conforms to your body, delivering all-day comfort while giving you the freedom of movement needed for demanding field photography. With 32” of controlled stretch, the strap lets you smoothly raise your camera from a sling position to your eye, and even above your head, without having to readjust or remove it from your neck and shoulders. Essentially removing an unnecessary step between the photographer and the moment they are trying to capture.
Reinforced Leather Ends
The leather ends are engineered for demanding use. As the most critical connection between your camera and strap, we reinforced both leather ends with an inner layer of Hypalon®, a material resistant to abrasion, chemicals, UV exposure, ozone, and harsh weather, and capable of supporting excessive weight. Our reinforced leather and Hypalon® ends are built for long-lasting performance and strength.
1000D Woven Nylon Sleeve
Our signature removable exterior sleeve is constructed from military-spec 1000D woven nylon, chosen for its outstanding resistance to abrasion, fading, rot, and mildew. Highly water-repellent and quick-drying, this fabric wears in beautifully over time, similar to denim and leather; the more you use it, the better it looks and feels. Since the sleeve is fully removable, it’s also easy to clean or wash whenever needed.
Aerospace-Grade Split Rings
Made in the USA from a steel-magnesium alloy, these aerospace-grade split rings are engineered to be stronger than comparable stainless steel rings. Unlike stainless steel or titanium, they are designed to spring back to a fully closed position for maximum security. Each ring is burnished and tumbled for an exceptionally smooth finish, then nickel-plated to provide long-lasting corrosion resistance.
Chest Strap
Our removable chest strap is made from ultra-smooth, high-strength nylon webbing, providing effortless adjustment and fluid movement while keeping your camera securely positioned during active use. When moments get tense, use the chest strap to comfortably hold the camera against your back while you're active, freeing both hands and preventing the camera from swinging forward when you bend forward.
Injection-Molded Acetal Buckle
The injection-molded acetal buckle for the chest strap is built for extreme durability. This military-grade polymer is known for its exceptional strength, impact resistance, dimensional stability, and resistance to environmental wear. Its lightweight construction won't damage a lens's glass or ding a camera when hanging loose, unlike metal buckles. It also locks and unlocks with one hand, making it effortless to use and ensuring the buckle delivers dependable performance even in the harshest conditions.
